North Beach at Wallaroo on the Copper Coast is a great spot for swimming with a cluster of cute shacks right on the sand. And, it’s also one of the few beaches in SA you can still drive your car on.
Adding to the appeal of this gorgeous stretch of sand is a new beachside café – aptly named ‘North Beach Kitchen’. They only opened their doors late last year and already it’s a hit.
Lisa Hawson and her husband Matt are passionate foodies; eager to make the most of the fresh, plentiful produce they have right on their doorstep.
They offer breakfast and brunch with great coffee, all in-house made cakes and a good selection of food including fresh seafood.
They also trade Friday and Saturday nights for dinner. “Friday nights we have our sunset club, so it’s all about tapas, cocktails, watching the sun go down right on the waterfront,” says Lisa.
And they’re not just a Summer venue, in the cooler months – they have large glass sliding doors so you can enjoy the view, out of the wind. Plus, a playground just out the back will keep the littlies entertained.
So if you thought the Copper Coast was all heritage and history – then think again. Make sure you pop in the next time you’re in Wallaroo – and tell them we sent you!
