The Barossa Valley is spoilt for choice when it comes to heritage, tradition and character. Follow the iconic palms of Seppeltsfield Road and you’ll soon find yourself in the charming village of Marananga which is home to a brand new accommodation option. Simply named “The Villas” two self-contained Ecoshelta pods are perched lightly on a private hillside backed by native bush.
Outside, they’re modern, sleek and distinctly Australian, proudly showing off their bones. Inside, light and comfort come to the fore, with a generous studio room encompassing the bed, lounge and a well-equipped kitchenette. The ensuite has a roomy shower, but also the cutest addition you could imagine: a tiny Japanese-style soak tub.
Sticking to the theme of the new, why not visit the Seppeltsfield Road Distillers, just down the way.
Nicole and Jon Durdin, make gin from grape spirit… and if you pop in they’ll make you something refreshing as well! There are three gins in the core range, and a tasting flight is a great way to sample them all.
Check their website for tasting events, and there’s always a special edition gin to try– think Shiraz or Semillon included in the mix – how very Barossan!
