One of South Australia’s favourite festivals has to be OzAsia. Last year more than 200,000 people attended, and this year with 60 major events from 21 countries, it’s going to be more exciting than ever.
Covering dance, film, visual arts and so much more – you couldn’t possibly pick what’s best – but one highlight is Dancing Grandmothers. In this touching and dynamic performance – ten grandmothers from Korea join a professional dance troupe and boogie to disco beats under glitter balls.
Another top pick is Sutra – an acrobatic work that combines Kung Fu and dance. Performed by Shaolin monks ranging from 8 years old to 50 – it’s been hailed as a masterpiece.
A new addition, is what’s been called the ‘greatest literature show on earth’ – the Jaipur Literary Festival. As well as celebrating literature it features Bollywood stars, high profile cricket players, famous authors, workshops, and delectable food.
As well as ticketed events, there are plenty of free activities too. The famed Moon Lantern Parade has expanded its route so there will be more vantage points for people to enjoy the spectacle.
And the always popular – Lucky Dumpling Market not only has incredible food on offer – but live entertainment and an activity tent for kids.
The OzAsia Festival will run from the 25th of October to the 11th of November so be adventurous and prepare to be surprised and delighted!
