Over the last decade or so, the popularity of SUV’s and 4WD’s on our roads has soared. But how many of us would actually be comfortable to take them off the bitumen? Today we’ve come up to the Bends brand new 4WD Adventure Park to learn some new off-roading skills and to have some fun.
By now you’ve probably heard of The Bend Motorsport Park just out of Tailem Bend – it’s the second largest permanent race track on the planet, and when fully completed this world class motorsport development is expected to cost around $110 million.
But what you might not know is, they’ve just unveiled their latest offering for dirt fiends, situated in the corner of this huge 750 hectare property.
The Adventure Park has taken advantage of a disused quarry where they’ve created some tricky terrain that’s perfect for both experienced and novice four wheel drivers. From Sand traps and dunes, muddy water crossings, rock and log obstacles, steep Inclines, table tops…. to what feels like death defying declines there’s a challenge around every corner!
This experience is a lot of fun, and it’s a great way to get to know your vehicle in a safe environment. It’s a great experience for anyone with a 4wd… and we’re proud to say we got through unscathed!
Of course you don’t have to be doing a drive experience or attend an event to visit The Bend – anyone can pop into their welcome centre at any time and check out their impressive car collection. There’s also a café and a bar on site – perfect for fuelling up.
For more information about The Bend’s many experiences, events and drive days simply head to their website.
And for those of you who are mad about motors you can even stay… over the top of pit lane no less at the Rydges Hotel. We even have a special deal for SA Weekender viewers…
