Looking for something to do with the kids or the grandkids away from electronics and out in the fresh air? Well, we’ve found just the place where they’ll be entertained!

Welcome to Tarnasey Farm. Situated just out of Wallaroo on Yorke Peninsula. Here city slickers can roll up their sleeves and get involved in farm life during a short visit or an extended stay.

Owner Kerry Dunn only opened the gates back in October last year, and, she’s been welcoming visitors ever since.   Guests are encouraged to get up close and personal with a menagerie of friendly farm animals. Here you can hand feed the cows, sheep, pigs, horses, alpacas, goats, ducks… and chickens!

An animal lover from way back, Kerry has rescued most of these animals, hand rearing many of them… and just like us; they all have their own unique personalities.

Tarnesey Farm has also recently added six, two bedrooms, self-contained cabins which sleep up to six people – making this an ideal family holiday destination for those looking for a bit of peace and quiet.

But if you are looking for other things to do… there are plenty of attractions nearby! In Kadina, there’s a new tree walk in the Apex Park Playground which looks like loads of fun.

Or head to the Moonta Mines for a dose of fascinating history where you can jump on board the Moonta Mines Tourist Railway for a guided tour through the former mining site.

And in the warmer months swim at Moonta Bay or make a splash at Splash Town Water Park, where kids can enjoy racer slides, water mushrooms and wading pools.  Entry is free! How good is that!

So if you’re looking for a fun and affordable country getaway check out Tarnasey Farm on Yorke Peninsula – head to their website for all the details. A farm tour and animal feeding are included in every stay.
