The charming seaside town of robe on the Limestone Coast has been a favourite destination for South Aussies for generations. But would you believe that close to 15 new shops have opened up in the past few months?
At bakery ‘Rise of Robe’ – they specialize in sour-dough bread and a small selection of delicious pastries like croissants and pain au chocolat. In just a few months they’ve had people queuing out the door to buy their traditional Portuguese tarts. And your ‘fur babies’ will love their hand-made carrot and crunch treats!
Just a few steps away is ‘Drift Café’. Once a private home, it’s now been transformed into a gorgeous, beachy, light-filled space. With the area famed for its produce, the menu is all about keeping it local. Dine inside, on the large outdoor deck, or spread out on the grass with one of their picnic rugs.
Another short stroll away is a cellar door that sits right on the main street. This is the inspired idea of Sonia from family-run, small-batch producer – ‘Woodsoak Wines.’ Sonia loves meeting the people who stop by and you’ll often find her husband – Winemaker Will there too.
All three of these newbies are located on Robe’s main street. Make sure to visit soon and get to know all the new kids on the block!
