The iconic Pikes Wines in the Clare Valley is over 30 years old, but has some exciting additions: a new tasting room and restaurant.
Light, bright and open-plan, the interior is nothing short of stunning. First, there’s the tasting room with a crackling fire, plush seating, and glass bi-fold doors so you can see right into the restaurant – Slate. The clever design means that no matter where you are, you have a view of the generous deck and picturesque vines beyond.
The menu is contemporary Australian with Mediterranean touches and the perfect complement to the renowned suite of wines. In the kitchen is Head Chef, Max Stephenson, who hails from Tassie’s hatted restaurant ‘The Source’ at ‘Mona’. Mums and dads, here’s a tip: their children’s menu is fantastic, too.
The vibe they have created is the perfect blend of sophisticated dining with warm, welcoming service!
And if you like your beer, there’s a boutique brewery just a few steps away that has a more casual menu and tasting flights.
The Pike family originally began making beer way back in 1885 in the Adelaide Hills. Today, the hope is that their exciting new additions in Clare will not only attract more people to them – but to the whole region.
So if you haven’t been to Pikes lately, now you have even more reasons to visit! Head to our Facebook page to find out how you could win a meal for two at Slate Restaurant!
