William Creek Hotel

The William Creek Hotel was built in 1887 when the Ghan railway line used to run through the remote South Australian town.  Today, it’s one of Australia’s iconic outback pubs, where travellers escaping the pressures of modern day life, drop in to wash down the dust of the Oodnadatta Track with a well-earned beer.

Trevor Wright owns the pub nowadays and delights in showing tourists the beauty of the Australian outback by air.  Today he takes Ron on a short flight over the Painted Hills, an ancient seabed now exposed to the elements of the far north.
